Georgia Black
My name is Georgia, and I am an Occupational Therapist here at Lifespan Therapies. I graduated from ACU in 2022 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Being a new graduate- I have joined the Lifespan Therapies team with fresh knowledge and access to the newest evidence-based information ready to collaborate, celebrate and achieve goals in all areas of occupation for the children and families and I work with.
I started with Lifespan Therapies in 2020. During my studies, I was an Allied Health Assistant which gave me hands-on experience providing face-to-face services and working collaboratively with our awesome other disciplines (Speech and Physio) to ensure best outcomes for our clients.
I have worked with children of all ages with very different and personalised goals, these include working on; fine motor skills, upper limb use, play skills, social skills, attention, problem solving, functional tasks (cooking, self-cares, routines, community access), developmental milestones, emotional regulation. All these areas which support engagement and participation in their most meaningful roles and occupations. I have particular interest in neurodevelopment, motor development and assistive technology.
When I am not at work, I love to spend time travelling, camping, going to the markets and doing anything that gets my adrenaline pumping (I am a big thrill seeker). I am a big foodie so enjoy trying new cafes and cuisines, even though Mexican will always have my heart. I have two pugs who also share my love for food and outdoors, so will often take them for walks along the waterfront or to the markets with me.
