Emilie Adams

Hi, I’m Emilie, and I am a proud Wiradjuri woman and Speech Pathologist here at Lifespan Therapies. I graduated from the University of Queensland with a Masters of Speech Pathology in 2020. Prior to this, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Canberra. I joined the Lifespan Therapies team in 2023.

I am passionate about supporting families with their communication and feeding goals and have a particular interest in early language as I love helping parents build their confidence in supporting their little one’s language development.

I also have a particular interest in orofacial myology (how the face and mouth move and grow) and how this impacts breathing, feeding, communication, and more

I have also had exposure to the Spalding, Sounds Write, and Read3 literacy programs along with the Visualising and Verbalising program to support comprehension of written and spoken language.

I grew up on Ngunnawal country (in Canberra) with my mum, dad, and older sister. I enjoy spending time outdoors and am often seen playing soccer as a goalkeeper, exploring national parks, or searching for the most scenic coffee spots in Brisbane. In 2016 I spent a year in Colorado, USA as an exchange student and had the time of my life. I completed a course in American Sign Language which ultimately persuaded me to be a speech pathologist. I’ve always loved travelling, learning about different cultures, and seeing new places. My favourite places I’ve visited are Alaska, Argentina, and Malaysia. Next year I’m hoping to go to Fiji with my family and am very excited to explore the island.

I don’t have kids, but I have 3 nieces: Saoirse [seer-sha], Keely, and Tori. Saoirse is 4 and Keely and Tori are twins who are 2 and a half. They love princesses, unicorns, and chasing their Aunty Emilie around the back yard. I also have a little puppy dog called Kobe who is Jack Russell crossed with Chihuahua. He is very playful but also gets scared easily and often barks at nothing.

I have always loved helping people and I look forward to working with you and/or your children to reach your communication and/or feeding goals.
