Occupational Therapists, or OTs, help to enrich skills in various areas of life, but at Lifespan Therapies we do this through what children are best at - playing!

Attention, Sensory & Emotional Supports

OT’s play an important role in identifying and supporting children’s sensory processing needs and finding ways to accomodate these in everyday life activities!

OT’s may also support in:

  • Emotional regulation strategies
  • Sensory diets
  • Executive functioning
Independent Daily Living Skills

Empower independence by helping with daily living skills.

We can support with:

  • Dressing - using zips, buttons and tying shoelaces
  • Self-care - bathing, toileting, hair brushing and teeth brushing
  • Meal planning and preparation, including following recipes
  • Basic household tasks
  • Community engagement such as ordering meals at cafes

Our OTs can prescribe a variety of equipment items to help their clients participate in the things they enjoy doing and make everyday life easier.

From adapted cutlery and cooking equipment, to shower chairs, beds and modified vehicles - we want everyone to achieve success!

Our OTs can also support clients and their care team with manual handling to ensure safety of all when moving between equipment items.
